An AI-powered OCR product that reads a business card and returns structured contact data in under three seconds. We built the scanning pipeline, the contact database, the apps on both stores and the subscription billing around it.
Everyone who works a trade show comes home with a pocket of cards and types none of them in. B-Scan's job is to remove the typing: photograph the card, get a structured contact, keep it somewhere searchable.
The product had to work on any card — different fonts, layouts, languages, and the lighting of a conference hall — and it had to be fast enough that scanning twenty cards feels like a task you can finish standing up.
Vertical text, foil printing, logos overlapping data, phone numbers in three formats. The extraction had to be tolerant rather than rigid.
If a scan takes ten seconds, nobody scans twenty cards. The target was a structured contact in under three.
A contact database with no export is a trap. CSV, Excel and CRM sync were requirements, not roadmap items.
Three subscription tiers, in rupees, with activation, renewal and grace handling — all of which has to be invisible when it works.
We built and tuned the OCR pipeline against real cards before any interface existed, because if extraction is poor the product has no reason to exist.
Capture → AI extraction → save and organise. The whole app was designed to keep that path to three taps.
Contact storage, search and the export/CRM paths, so data never gets stuck inside the product.
Apps to both stores, web dashboard alongside, and subscription billing layered on once the free experience was solid.
